Toyoda Horizontal Machining Centers with 1.FPA 2.RGV
Starting at the top of the list, our flagship machining center is a pallet changing system, that incorporates 20 pallet stations, hooked up to three Toyoda 450III horizontal machining centers. These 4th axis machines can run spindle speeds of 14,000 rpm with repetitive quality of .00012" full stroke and .00006 linear repeatability.1. Flexible Pallet Automation

Some advantages of a pallet changing machining center include the ability to run "lights out" for increased production, part probing for insured accuracy, as well as the ability to minimize machining setups and teardowns.
JIMS has and can build all the machine tooling in house for guaranteed consistency from part to part. The tooling, combined with production capacity and of course state of the art machining centers guarantees quality and on time delivery.
Niigata 50 Taper Horizontal Machining Center with 630mm Pallets
Another powerhouse, the 630mm 4th axis machining center, is solely devoted to cutting steel. This workhorse is reliable, accurate and consistent. JIMS has relied on this machine's accuracy and speed for production jobs in the "Tens of Thousands".Mori Seiki 50 Taper Vertical Machining Center
Due to the volume and capacity of the JIMS overall throughput, this machine often times is reserved simply for roughing material. It’s ideal for applying a lower machine rate to keep the cost down, minimizing the amount of time parts spend on other machines. Plus the table size of 40" x 20" x 20" allows a big workholding opportunity. Just a few steps from Jim’s office are four Hitachi Seiki Horizontal Machining Centers. Through the years, JIMS has worked on standardizing tooling, and these machines are perfect in this scenario. After developing tooling, JIMS can easily move the jobs back and forth between machines depending on production scheduling. These machines also offer a reduced machine rate for competitive pricing. CNC Lathes
The JIMS turning capabilities are as equally impressive as our milling centers. JIMS boasts over 17 different lathes, so rest assured — we've got the right machine for the job.
Nakamura-Tome Twin Spindle Technology
Some of our newest lathes are twin spindle — twin turret machines with 1. live tooling. These powerhouse lathes have the capabilities of running a job "complete" in one operation. For example, these machines can hold material in the left side collet, and then exchange the part to the right side for finish machining. Raw material to finish machined in one operation.1. Pictured here is a sample part, that is completely machined in one operation with a cycle time of 15 minutes. This same part previously averaged approx 23 minutes, and required two lathe operations and one 3-position mill set-up with 4th axis to complete. JIMS utilizes four different Hitachi Seiki Lathes on the production floor. These lathes are used both as standalone machines, or incorporated into intricate machining cells that focus on production volume of similar parts on a daily basis.Many of JIMS lathes incorporate CNC bar feeders & pullers for consistent loading. Pictured to the left is a motorcycle transmission gear. This AGMA Quality 9 gear is cut in 1 1/2 minutes, with repetitive quality, day, after day, after day.Are you in search for a supplier that "knows" gears? CNC Cylindrical Grinding
For 40 years, JIMS has been manufacturing critical parts, ground between centers, used in engine and transmissions assemblies that require tight tolerances. Are you in search of a quality machine shop that's familiar with grinding critical working diameters on steel shafts? Do you need to control tight OD tolerances? JIMS uses the best Toyoda grinders available, and has monthly capacity in the thousands of units. Gun Drill
Although Gun Drilling is not one of JIMS specialties, JIMS does have a Dehoff Twin Spindle Gun Drill on the premises that allows control and flexibility if your parts require simple gun drilling.
Weld
Similar to gun drill, JIMS does not specialize in high production or CNC welding. We do however have a weld department, that is perfect for medium size runs that require simple weldments. JIMS Prototype department develops weld fixtures and jigs that assure repetitive weldment and "On Time" delivery.
Hone
Every day at JIMS, trained technicians hone hundreds of critical working assembly parts. Between JIMS tight process control, trained technicians, and quality Sunnen honing & Rottler cylinder honing machines, you, the customer, can be assured that the I.D. tolerances required are achieved, part to part, over and over again. Federal Air gauging and Sunnen Bore gauging are incorporated in the hone department for quality and inspection purposes.

Saw
Thousands of pounds of steel and aluminum flow through the JIMS production department on a weekly basis. It all starts in the saw department. Truck loads of material, mostly mill ordered spec, are delivered to shipping and receiving and staged in the saw department. In a sense, most of JIMS production is fed by either our Amada Automatic Cutoff Saw with a 10" diameter max, and or our Daito Automatic Cutoff Saw with a 13" Diameter max. These two workhorses are reliable and efficient. They get the job done.

Deburr
At the end of the day, a quality machined part must be free of burrs, edges, flash, etc... Although JIMS has implemented as much deburr as possible at the machine, a quality deburr department is key and critical in delivering good parts.
JIMS has skilled employees that have years of experience in the art of "hand deburr". These technicians examine each part under magnifying glasses, microscopes, etc...
Only when a part is burr free, is it ready to ship from JIMS to the customer.

Each customer has individual needs and requirements for a specific job. Often times, a prototype is required to prove up a designs feasibility, and or part validation before initiating a production run.
JIMS employs some of the best machinists in the area. We can work from prints, models, or even napkin sketches, ultimately supplying a prototype for individual customer needs.
The prototype department is also, often times, used for low quantity production jobs.
